Nuneaton Training Centre hosts Apprenticeship Week

01 September 2011 at 15:44:23 by prominent

Nuneaton Training Centre (NTC) is hosting an Apprenticeship Week beginning Monday the 7th February. The event is being held to help promote apprenticeships to both employers and prospective learners.

With the recent demise of the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) many young people may be more reluctant than ever to continue learning. Apprenticeships provide a welcome opportunity for many people to develop essential skills whilst still earning an income.

Despite the stereotypes of apprenticeships being strictly for the younger generation many people will be surprised to know that anyone between the ages of 16-65 could be eligible.

The NTC runs apprenticeships in business & administration, health & social care, performing manufacturing operations and retail skills. The NTC hope the event will encourage members of the community to investigate the opportunities available to them through apprenticeships.

In today's economic climate more and more people are choosing to explore apprenticeships as an option. The NTC specialise in working with local companies and individuals to provide the right training solution for their needs.

Apprenticeships can benefit not only the learner but also the employer; 80% of those employers who employ apprentices agree they make their workplace more productive. Businesses may also be eligible for apprenticeship funding from the National Apprenticeship Service.
