Legends put their stylists to the test

Legends Hair and Beauty has put their stylists to the test with a recent "hair up" styling competition.

The competition was to judge the techniques that Legends team members were taught by Senior Stylists Sam Dodgson and Stacey Mapstone, who have recently trained with world-renowned stylist Patrick Cameron.

Thirteen stylists had 4 weeks to prepare for the competition, which was made up of two categories, assistant and graduate stylists and senior stylists.

Sam and Stacey chose three winners, with senior stylist Kim Chilcott winning overall.

The competition was developed after Sam and Stacey travelled to the Patrick Cameron Training School at Wella's World Studio in London to train for two full days with Patrick Cameron and his team. The course helped both stylists to master and perfect a wide range of new techniques and creations for styling long hair.

Geraldine Alekna, Managing Director of Legends Hair and Beauty, said: "The competition was a great way for Sam and Stacey to pass on the skills that they were taught.

"Our stylists were really keen to showcase their new skills, so they kept practising and fine tuning their techniques. We were really impressed with the results of the competition and it was hard to choose the winners, but the day was good fun!

"We enrolled Sam and Stacey on the course to expand the salon's styling services to offer new wedding styles and hair designs for special occasions. Passing on their expertise in this fun and challenging way has been vital in continuing to provide these services at Legends."

Patrick Cameron is the UK's leading long-hair styling expert to the stars and he opened his Patrick Cameron Training School to provide one to one training for stylists and salons to perfect the art of dressing long hair.
