Dortrend International Limited, located in the riverside town of Stourport-on-Severn, near to the UK's industrial heartland, has been manufacturing high quality door handles for over 30 years.

They offer door handles to suit most price requirements and applications including anti-ligature fittings for helping to prevent self harming, anti-bacterial handles to help prevent the spreading of harmful bacteria, lever and pull handles to assist the less physically able and also handles suited to domestic and commercial use.

What was the brief?

Prominent were approached by Dortrend to help with the launch of their new product TouchClean, the anti-bacteria coating that can be applied to almost any surface.

They asked Prominent to help them raise awareness of TouchClean and its advantages.

What did Prominent do?

When Swine Flu was dominating the news agendas, Dortrend waDr Richard Taylor MP PR2s able to comment effective in the regional media such as BBC Hereford and Worcester about how TouchClean could be used as a tool to fight against the threat of Swine Flu.

We invited the Stourport MP Dr Richard Taylor (bottom right) to visit the Dortrend factory to introduce him to their work in the fight against bacteria, who was pleased with what he saw. Derek Butler, Chairman of MRSA Action UK Affinity (top right) also visited Dortend to see the good work that they were doing.

Case studies of the use of TouchClean were well publicised, including an experiment with one of the UK's largest luxury mobile toilet providers Andyloos and The Freeman Hospital, part of the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dortrend saw a stark increase in enquiries from nurseries, hospitals, shopping centres and more.
